From Harvest to Halloween
This month’s festival celebrations - Napa Valley
(NAPA, CA) — Vintners and grape growers are not the only busy
people during harvest. Napa Valley comes alive with many activities
ranging from those that enjoy the last bit of Indian summer weather
and spectacular fall colors to harvest dinners featuring late
garden bounty, newly released wines, and of course, Halloween
tricks and treats.
Downtown Activities
It may be a ghoulish welcome mat, but the towns of Yountville,
Napa and Calistoga all enjoy a good treat – and if those come
with a few tricks, then so be it. This month’s activities range
from month long displays of amazing decorations meant to scare
the wits out of you (okay, maybe not your wits), to parades,
and trick-or-treating among the merchants.

Fall Al Fresco Activities
Fall outdoor activities are enjoyed with that bittersweet knowledge
that soon we will all be bundled up in boots and coats, more
hiding from the weather than taking pleasure in it (unless
you mean looking through the window at the rain with a warm
toddy and a good book). So, before you have to shake the sweaters
out of the moth balls, shake your boodie and get outside before
it’s too late.

The Monster Mash, or the Crush Rush
The last of harvest is happening and all the grapes are coming
in from the fields and into the vats. It is amazing that the
busy vintners have any time at all to think of anything besides
their next vintage, but they seem to be as ready to celebrate
as the rest of us.
