GO ON SAFARI Get ready for a wild ride! Trekking in an authentic safari vehicle, visitors are surrounded by giraffe, gazelle, scimitar-horned oryx, ostrich and other species of African antelope—all sharing the beauty and diversity of the savannah environment. The wildlife park is designed to give the animals the ability to interact and roam about freely, as well as engage our guests in a once in a life time experience — an African luxury safari in the wine country.

Classis Safari Drive Explore the entire 400 acres of Safari West in a three-hour adventure led by one of our highly experienced guides in an open-air, authentic safari vehicle. The experience includes a drive through our 12-Acre Extreme Africa Exhibit, where you’ll be at one with the Wild, observing giraffe, gazelle, scimitar-horned oryx, ostrich and other species of African antelope—all living together and sharing this exotic savannah setting. In one area you may find a cape buffalo and a zebra enjoying a refreshing break at the nearby watering hole; look in another direction and see eye to eye with a wildebeest –– if you're lucky! The exhibit was designed to give the animals the ability to interact and roam about freely.

Then it’s on foot for a journey through our inner compound where you’ll spot a cheetah or two, giraffes sticking their necks out for you, the primates on lemur island going ape, resplendent birds soaring over in our amazing open-air aviary, as well as an abundance of other animals.

Private Safari Perhaps the most inspiring way to enjoy Safari West is on a Private Safari. Enjoy all the highlights of our classic safari tour, but with a special personal touch and the freedom to go into more detail about pretty much anything with your guide. It is like having your own portal into an exotic world few have experienced. Features a wine and cheese basket.

Photo Safari Bring your camera (digital, film or video) and be prepared for a richly engaging photo tour. Your guide will keep you alerted for the best photo opportunities. You may even be able to catch our cheetahs on film; you'll never catch them on foot. Features the services of our wildlife photographer.

Group Safari Trek A 90-minute adventure led by one of our naturalists. Guests will board the African Queen, a 25' long trailer adapted with benches and a thatched grass roof, departing daily for a journey through our savannah grasslands and breathtaking views of Watusi Lake, and then it's time to hoof it! The second part of the tour allows you to trek around our inner compound with a trained guide, where you will spot our elegant cheetahs, giraffes, primates and the birds in our open-air aviary. For twenty or more guests.

A Celebration of Romance and Nature!

The natural and exotic surroundings of Safari West provide an extraordinary setting for a special wedding ceremony, plus unique locations for memorable photographs. We look forward to meeting you and discussing your plans and requirements.

At our initial meeting we will determine which wedding package is right for you. We will show you our facilities and detail our services. Don’t forget- your guests can enjoy overnight accommodations in our African Tent Camp and you can plan an African-themed rehearsal dinner at the Savannah Cafe. Please inquire with our event staff as to availability.
