Personal Welcome from Innkeepers Gillian & Nick Kite CULINARY ARTISTRY: With experience providing catering, hotel dining and cooking lessons in Britain, France and the USA, the innkeeper, Gillian Kite, brings a fresh approach to Bed and Breakfast food that guests adore. At the Wine Way Inn providing great food is a key part of building a lasting and enjoyable memory of your stay. In the evening we serve a variety of wines from Napa and surrounding wine areas. We aim to provide wines which our guests will probably not find at home to add to their enjoyment of their wine country visit. Wines are accompanied by simple appetizers or a cheese plate - just a little something to wet the appetite before guests depart for dinner. We pride ourselves on providing a fresh cooked breakfast that will delight your palate and your eye. THE INN - THEN & NOW: Built at the turn of the century the Wine Way Inn is one of the finest examples of Craftsman architecture in Calistoga. Reputedly built for Leland Stanford, our builders tell us that the structural timbers are American white pine that must have shipped around the horn from South Carolina.Converted from its original status as a family home in 1978, the Wine Way Inn is Calistoga's oldest Bed and Breakfast Inn. The guest dining room and parlor have the original shoulder high oak wainscoting and leaded glass built-in cabinets along with a charming fireplace. The building is complemented by the stunning multi level redwood deck at the rear of the house. Always a wonderful surprise for our new guests, the deck and garden provide an ideal spot to relax and soak up the last of the day's sunshine while enjoying the views of Mount St. Helena and the Palisades. On warm nights (most of the year here in Calistoga) guests congregate here to enjoy the evening's complimentary wine and appetizers, share stories of the day's wine finds, or simply make new friends. For those preferring more intimate conversation, there is plenty of room to find your own private spot. We look forward to meeting you! DIRECTIONS: Wine Way Inn is on the corner of Highway 29 and Lincoln Avenue in Calistoga. The Inn is about 72 miles north from San Francisco. The central location makes it easy to access Napa, Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino Counties.
