Two perfect examples of Girard’s over-delivery of quality include: the 91-point Wine Spectator-rated Estate Cabernet from Girard's vineyards on Pritchard Hill ($75), and the 93-point Wine Spectator-rated Diamond Mountain Cabernet ($75), which were both rated among wines that sell for $150-$450. Girard's Bordeaux blend called Artistry ($40) was rated "5-Stars, Best of the Best" by Quarterly Review of Wines, alongside wines that were priced at 5 times the price of Artistry.

Winemaker Marco DiGiulio, hailed by the Wine Spectator as "one of Napa’s leading winemakers", deserves much of the credit for Girard's success. Marco’s philosophy is to make wines that are not highly stylized in the lab, barrel and tank, but rather reflect the true flavor and texture characteristics of the appellations in which the grapes are grown.
