Maximus White Feasting Wine
This highly anticipated release from Bennett Lane Winery is our white wine partner to our proprietary blend, Maximus. This Napa Valley white wine is a blend of 87% Sauvignon Blanc, 11% Chardonnay, and 2% Muscat. Honey suckle, orange blossom and white peaches waft from the glass with tropical notes of mango and passion fruit and hints of ruby grape fruit. This is the perfect summer wine! Primus Chardonnay Only the second of its kind here at Bennett Lane, this follows in the tradition of our inaugural 2004 release as a true reserve style Chardonnay with fruit from the Sangiacomo vineyard in Carneros. With bright aromatic notes of Bartlett pear, pineapple, caramel and creamy vanilla, this white wine has a clean and vibrant palate with flavors of fresh pears, Meyer lemons, marzipan and Creme Brulee and a crisp and amazingly long creamy finish. Maximus Red Feasting Wine The 2004 Maximus is comprised of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot and 20% Syrah. The latest release of our proprietary blend opens with notes of spicy red currants, blueberry, black rasberry jam, maple brown sugar and hints of pipe tobacco. On the palate there are flavors of rich ripe concentrated fruit, mocha and chocolate cherry with soft velvety tannins that linger on the palate. The wine is very drinkable now and is also worthy of aging. Cabernet Sauvignon This Bennett Lane Napa Valley Cabernet is another stellar release among our lineup of Cabs and is sure to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor. The wine opens with aromas of fresh ripe blackberry and black cherry with hints of vanilla, cedar and sage. Rich concentrated fruit rounds out the palate with flavors of fresh baked berry pie. Silky tannins follow with a long finish. This wine was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, of which 20% were new. Primus Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon The grapes for our Reserve Cabernet come from Taplin 2 Ranch in St. Helena, Atchley Vineyards on Spring Mountain and from Howell Mountain. The wine is black ruby in color with aromas of rich currants, dark cherries and chocolate. Soft, rich and full on the palate with luscious flavors, the Primus finishes with hints of toasty vanilla and smooth velvety tannins and incredible length.
