Black Stallion Winery is devoted to creating wines that reflect the unique characteristics of California terroir and the meticulous winemaking culture of the Napa Valley, widely recognized as among the best in the world. Winemaker Charles Hendricks is committed to crafting exquisite, ultra-premium wines that reflect the elegance and complexity of the Oak Knoll District.

Under the direction of winemaker Charles Hendricks, Black Stallion Winery will focus on creating ultra-premium wines of character and distinction. The current portfolio contains nine different varietals, including a cabernet sauvignon, a chardonnay and a dessert wine. Following are current descriptions on these three variatals:

2002 Cabernet Sauvignon
This well-structured, medium-bodied Cabernet exhibits extracted fruit along with subtly, finesse and mature tannins. Aromas and flavors of cherry, cassis, plum, eucalyptus and licorice carry through the palate with a hint of dark chocolate on the lingering finish. Serve with prime rib, filet, lamb or game birds such as pheasant and duck. Also a good complement to cheeses such as camembert or brie.

2004 Chardonnay
A stylish, medium-bodied wine possessing aromas of apple and honeysuckle with flavors of freshly cut pear, a creamy texture and finish. Well-balanced with rounded fruit flavors and crisp acidity that hint at both delicacy and lushness - a hallmark of fine Carneros Chardonnay. Pairs nicely with linguini with clams, cracked Dungeness crab, filet of sole or roasted chicken.

2004 Muscat
A vibrant, juicy sweet wine with luscious flavors of Mandarin orange, pink grapefruit, peach, apricot, honey and ginger. Pair with ripe, summer desserts such as fruit tarts, strawberries and cream, panna cotta cream with raspberries or dry jack, blue cheese and aged white cheddar.

Black Stallion wines are only available at the winery or through the website, thus guaranteeing that every bottle of Black Stallion wine comes directly from our own cellar. Total case production for Black Stallion Winery’s first vintage is 3,200 cases.
