Folio Winemakers' Studio is home to several wine companies and Folio brands. Oberon and Hangtime are actually made at the winery. Why "Studio"? We feel fine winemaking is an art and we wanted the name of our winery to communicate that it is a place where art is shared by enthusiasts of all levels. Family Tradition Folio Winemakers’ Studio represents another branch in the Mondavi family tree of winemakers. The Studio is owned, operated and cared for by members of the Mondavi family: Michael and his wife Isabel, along with their children Rob and Dina. Michael started his career in the wine industry in 1966 when he and his father Robert founded the Robert Mondavi Winery. They quickly established themselves as innovators and helped put California wines on the map. Michael made wines for the first nine years of his career and now his son Rob continues the tradition at Folio. Inspiration for wine making always came easily to the Mondavi family. Robert had been in the wine business since he was a high schooler following in his father Cesare's footsteps. And Cesare Mondavi began it all in Lodi, California where he found grapes and winemaking supplies for local families to make legal wine during prohibition. Today the Mondavi name is known worldwide for finely crafted and artfully produced wines.
