RUBICON
When Francis Coppola set out to craft a world-class proprietary red wine using the historic vines of the famed Inglenook property, he found Caesar's march on Rome - The crossing of the Rubicon - an appropriate metaphor in its implied "point of no return."

Rubicon, the flagship wine of Rubicon Estate, reflects the unique terroir of this world-renowned property. Using only 100% organically-farmed grapes sourced directly from Estate vineyards, Rubicon has become a role model for Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon. Like other great clarets, Rubicon is blended primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon, which was first planted on the Estate between 1882 and 1885 by Inglenook founder Captain Gustave Niebaum. Recently, laboratory analysis verified that the vineyard clone selection propagated since the 1960s is indeed the same genetic material as the vines Niebaum brought back from France in the 1880s. Because the Niebaum clone - Clone #29 technically speaking - has been continuously planted here, it is one of California's most historic and important clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, and totally unique to Rubicon Estate.

BLANCANEAUX
In 1978, Rubicon Estate set out to craft a proprietary red wine that would rival the great clarets of the world, just as those created by the historic Inglenook property decades earlier. Once the dream was realized and Rubicon became a success, it seemed fitting to create a world-class proprietary white wine as a worthy partner to Rubicon. That wine is Blancaneaux, a highly aromatic blend of white Rhône varietals.

RC RESERVE SYRAH
This Estate wine has become a remarkable anomaly for a winery situated in the heart of Cabernet country. Developed by Roman Coppola and winemaker Scott McLeod, this rich, heavily textured Syrah reflects the integrity of the vines by exuding flavors that are defined, precise, and arresting.

CABERNET FRANC
Long considered an essential component of Bordeaux-style blends and used to intensify the spicy mineral qualities in Rubicon, this Cabernet Franc is a sumptuous drinking experience all on its own.

EDIZIONE PENNINO ZINFANDEL

When Francis Coppola and his wife Eleanor acquired the Estate in 1975, they were advised by consultants to remove the Zinfandel vines and replace them with higher-priced Cabernet Sauvignon. Coppola had his own ideas. "But I like to drink Zinfandel," and the Zinfandel remained on part of the Estate.

In 1988, the first Edizione Pennino Zinfandel was released. The label is a tribute to Coppola's maternal grandfather, Francesco Pennino. The label design replicates the logo of his music-publishing firm, which translates to "Pennino Editions." The diamond on the left side of the label depicts the Bay of Naples, Francesco Pennino's former home and his last view of Italy. The diamond on the right side is a view of New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty, his first glimpse of America, his new home.

Like the striking melodies orchestrated by Francesco Pennino, Neapolitan composer and grandfather of Francis Coppola, his namesake Zinfandel is a harmonious expression of rich, succulent fruit and varietal spice.

MERLOT

This exquisite varietal, know for plush fruit and soft tannins, enhances the complexity of Rubicon and demonstrates profound flavors and a velvety texture when bottled as an individual varietal from our prized Rutherford vineyards.

CASK CABERNET
A tribute to the highly stylized Cabernet Sauvignon produced by Inglenook during the John Daniel, Jr. era, Rubicon Estate CASK Cabernet epitomizes the kind of Rutherford wine that inspires and stimulates debate among connoisseurs. Using only Estate-grown fruit, CASK Cabernet employs a traditional barrel aging regimen, spending twenty-four months in 500-L American oak puncheons.

MERLOT
It may come as a surprise that many of the world's most sought after Bordeaux are comprised not of Cabernet, but Merlot. This exquisite varietal, known for plush fruit and soft tannins, enhances the complexity of Rubicon and demonstrates profound flavors and a velvety texture when bottled as an individual varietal from these prized Rutherford vineyards.
