Our completely organic farming methods are designed to produce the most developed and intense flavors possible from our Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Chardonnay grapes. Once created, our wines are aged in French oak for 20-24 months, with approximately half of these barrels being replaced each year. These wines are crafted in a style which maximizes fruit quality with soft tannins for extended aging potential. Due to these traits, our wines have earned highest ratings in numerous wine journals. Wine Spectator, in its "Napa's 50 Best Cabernets" issue, says about Staglin Family Vineyard: "Owner's commitment to quality has paid off in recent years, making it one of Napa's hottest estates. Poised to challenge the best." Thom Elkjer, The San Francisco Chronicle, writes: "Staglin Family Vineyard Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon-- The vineyard that yields this plush, juicy Cab was once part of the estate that produced Beaulieu Vineyards' historic George de Latour Cabernet Sauvignon--arguably the greatest Cab of the previous century. The Staglins are giving it the treatment it deserves, and it shows in the wine." Rod Smith, The Los Angeles Times, says: "Cabernet Sauvignon is Napa Valley's signature varietal, and Rutherford is the valley's premier Cabernet appellation--particularly its western half, where producers such as Staglin... consistently make magnificent wines." Dan Berger, The Grape Vine, says: "This is one of my favorite wines to consume young, even though they appear to have the stuffing to age. Exciting Rutherford dust aroma and dense fruit. This vineyard once was an essential part of BV Private Reserve." Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, comments: "I find these Cabernet Sauvignons to be graceful, elegant, and undeniably stylish. One of Napa Valley's more gorgeous winery and vineyard sites." Tom Shelton, The New Sotheby's Wine Encyclopedia, says: "This winery produces lush, beautifully balanced Cabernet of great finesse, and stunningly rich yet silky smooth Sangiovese."
