| Winemaker Ralf Holdenried says of the Estate, "William Hill Estate provides me with everything I need to make great wines. The winery and vineyards are just the right size for making fine wine. I can check on fermentation in one of our steel tanks, then walk through one door and I'm in the barrel cellar. My vineyards are literally right outside my door. This place was clearly designed by winemakers for winemakers." Napa Valley Wines The Napa Valley bottlings focus on balance, forward fruit flavors and the elegance that marks the William Hill Estate signature style. While these wines offer additional complexity with proper aging, they are wonderful wines upon release. Napa Valley Reserve Wines The Napa Valley Reserve wines offer more intensity, bigger structure and bolder fruit character nicely wrapped in our signature elegant style. When cellared properly, these wines will age gracefully for many years 2005 Napa Valley Chardonnay This is a fruit forward style of Chardonnay with a refreshingly crisp acidity and a light body which makes it perfect for drinking in the Napa Valley sunshine. It opens with a vivid burst of pineapples, mangoes and tangerines and has a long finish with a classic touch of minerality that complements the mouthwatering fruit. 2005 Napa Valley Reserve Chardonnay Complex and layered, with juicy nectarine, mandarin oranges and lychee fruit that begins on the nose and carries through to the palate. The wine is rich and dense with a creamy mouth feel coming from ten months of sur lees aging in French oak barrels. It is a balanced wine with a delicate mineral essence that extends through the long lingering finish. 2004 Napa Valley Malbec This wine displays Malbec's characteristic inky, saturated purple color and has ripe plum, black cherry and oolong tea aromas along with spicy oak notes. It’s dense and burly in the mouth with fleshy, ripe dark fruit flavors, plenty of finesse and a long well-balanced finish. 2004 Napa Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon This Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon shows concentrated black fruit and bright raspberry flavors. It is a powerful wine that also shows the balance and refinement that is characteristic of Cabernet grapes grown on the Silverado Bench. It has the fruit intensity and structure to improve through the years of aging, although its ripeness and approachability make it rewarding to enjoy now. |
