| Affectionately known as the 'Still on the Hill,' a visit to Charbay will lead you through the world of winemaking & on into the world of distilling. As you come up the driveway, watch for one of the family's classic copper French Alambic Pot Stills. This family loves to distill and you’re about to taste why this artisan distilling family is headed into its 26th year. Visits: Open 7 Days a Week, 10am - 4pm Charbay brings alive the charm of winemaking & distilling. Enjoy the fun stories about how this small independent family makes their vast array of wines & ports. You'll be tasting right in the winery beside one of the stills. Ask any questions you’ve been wondering about wines, ports, spirits & distilling. They also distill whiskey, rums, and more at their sister distillery that is not open to the public. (California law prohibits tasting spirits at Charbay/St. Helena). The Charbay Wine Club: Members always receive Wine Club allocations first – no matter how small the release. They hear first about upcoming releases, news and events, too. The annual Charbay Private Wine Club party brings everyone together for a pig roast and time to hang out with the family beside the winery/distillery. The Mailing List: Upcoming events, new cocktails, news from Miles & Marko and new release dates. To Visit: Charbay is on top of Spring Mountain outside of St. Helena, a 15 minute drive. Follow the green signs up the private driveway and watch for the green gate. |
